The subfloor is part of the foundation of a home’s floor. It is constructed of wood sheathing that spans across the floor joists. It is usually out of sight under the flooring material.
Some signs of subfloor issues are loud squeaking or a spongy feeling under your feet when stepping on the floor. Other signs of potential issues are sagging or dips in the floor.
